1 to 3-Month Portuguese Course
This 3-month long Portuguese course (120 hours) offers students the opportunity of a language immersion at a lower cost. The course load of 10 hours a week (2½ hours a day, 4 days a week) allows you to associate other activities along with the classes boosting your language acquisition. Classes happen from Monday to Thursday making it possible for students to organize short trips over the weekends. The course also organizes social/cultural activities for students without cost (2 per month).
- Elementary to intermediate levels (A1, A2, B1)
- 40 hours a month, 10 hours a week, 4 classes of 2 ½ hours a week
- Monthly free activities: orientation session, trekking, happy hour, etc.
- It is mandatory that you plan your trip and enroll well in advance (we suggest at least 3 months before the course start). Due to the low demand for Portuguese courses in Florianópolis, forming groups usually takes longer.
The Language Club adopts a communicative methodology. The courses are very interactive and grammar and vocabulary are learned in context. Class dynamics make use of simulation activities encouraging students’ language practice.
The courses cover the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Aspects of Brazilian culture are also included in the course syllabus.
